Clash of the Titans

Hello there everyone!!! Welcome back to XMR (Xan's Movie Rating) where every movie I've watched is being rated!!! hehehe did you guys miss me? apparently not LOL!

Well, I've been really busy with alot of stuff... (Well that's not the point here. All I'm here for is to give ratings to movies anyways hehehe...) So let's get started shall we?

Okay, CotT (acronym for Clash of the Titans) is a really unique 3D movie I've watched since I read about some mythical stories in the past. Here is the plot in a nutshell. (Credit to moviefone.com for the info)

In 'Clash of the Titans,' the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

IDK if you guys have noticed, but i didn't do it like my usual XMR's like the ones before, it is because I haven't done it in a while and i forgot my own blog structure hahaha well I'll probably reinvent how i do things anyway, for the good I hope :P

OK, here are some positives from the movie as I remember it (O_O)

1. Sam Worthington, one of the best CG-3D actors I've watched (IDK if you knew, but he's the same guy from Avatar, and he can portray good CG movies like no other can hehehe) but of course, he's not alone in the scenario of the movie, it's just good role playing of the character.

2. CG-3D graphics. Whomever the artists/computer graphics designers are, they deserve a big pat in the back on this one. Not as stunning as Avatar, but good nonetheless :D

3. Ralph Fiennes. Should I say more? XDDDD one of the good veteran actors out there

Neggy's coming up (Negative comments)

1. Poor story line. Sadly it didn't live up to my expectations (due to I love literature, and i've read some mythology books myself, so in comparison, it wasn't a big bang to me)

2. Bad extras. LOL you rarely see me give a comment about extras, since a lot of people mostly don't pay attention to them. well, not me. I usually monitor some of them and what they usually do within the range of the camera. I saw some which aren't giving full detail in what they are suppose to do. For instance, the part wherein they will sacrifice the princess (that's all I'm saying) there are some extras in the background that are suppose to act in a specific way (not stating, since idk if the people reading this will watch it) but they didn't even do their part at all. They just stood there like some people on standby (which is a waste of film imho) and idk if the director noticed it or not. well thats just my statement hehehe

Final verdict: (IDK if you noticed, but its much shorter than my most XMR's due to my lack of sleep and all sorts of things that bother me, but nevertheless)

from my previous post, so you would know my baseline)

MAX stars = 5

1 - ingenuity and depth of plot/screenplay/storyline

1 - actors/actresses portrayal of roles

1 - cinematography (includes special effects and other cgi stuff)

1 - movie suited for the genre it was shown for (like e.g. comedy for comedy, action for action, etc.)

1 - personal score liking (comments added here if needed)

My XMR for "Clash of the Titans" would be a 2 out of 5. Reason being -1 for the story, -1 for the poor extras, and -1 for the disappointing movie (+1 for the trailer though, it looked awesome!) well that's about it :D

  2. Lol hehehe I'll try to do it even though I'm busy with both work in the office and work at home, finishing the house is gruesome task, especially when you're one of the few guys around to actually to the heavy stuff TT_TT anyway :D
